Simple dish showing off fresh snap beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh snap beans, washed, and ends cut off
  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

  1. Lightly steam beans until they are cooked but still crisp
  2. In a frying pan, cook bacon until lightly browned
  3. Add butter to bacon and melt
  4. Add remaining ingredients to frying pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until onions are transparent
  5. Pour mixture over beans and serve

Serves 6
