Recipe originally obtained from the owners and cousins of famous Pascal Manales Restaurant, New Orleans

  • 3 sticks butter
  • 6 whole cloves garlic
  • 4 oranges, thinly sliced
  • 4 lemons, thinly sliced
  • 3 pounds unpeel fresh shrimp, heads on
  • 2 heaping TBS black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt


  1. Combine all ingredients in a deep, large oven-proof pan and bake at 400° for 12 minutes
  2. Remove and carefully toss shrimp; return to oven for additional 15 minutes
  3. Serve with hot French bread for dipping

Serves 4-6

Its acceptable to lick your fingers with this dish; but be sure make available dampened hot towels as a finale to this scrumptious treat.
