  • ¼ cup sugar cane syrup
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 TBS orange juice
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp grated orange rind
  • ½ tsp cracked black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp dried mustard
  • 6 sliced green onions
  • 1 thinly sliced white or Vidalia onions
  • ¼ cup finely diced red bell pepper
  • ¼ cup finely diced yellow bell pepper
  • ¼ cup minced garlic
  1. Combine first 10 ingredients in a quart jar, cover, and shake vigorously; chill for at least 2 hours, shake once again before serving
  2. In a large mixing bowl, gently place alternating layers of tomatoes, onions, green onions, and garlic
  3. Pour vinaigrette over the tomatoes to coat; cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 3-3 hours before serving
  4. To serve, place tomatoes and Bermuda onions in circular patter around a glass serving platter; pour remainder of dressing over tomatoes and garnish with red and yellow bell pepper
