Strawberry Sauce for Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • ÂĽ stick butter
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, washed, stemmed, and halved
  • 1 tsp cornstarch, dissolved in 2 TBS cold water
  • 2 TBS Kirsch cherry liqueur
  • ÂĽ cup cognac
  • 2 TBS strawberry liqueur
  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 TBS sugar
  • ½ tsp grated lemon peel
    Directions:
  1. In a sauce pan melt butter and add strawberries, sauté for 4 minutes
  2. Add cornstarch mixture and stir until ingredients thicken
  3. Add liqueurs, extracts, sugar, and lemon, mix well; remove from heat and allow to reach room temperature
  4. Refrigerate for 2 hours; serve chilled over your favorite ice cream

Serves 4-6
