Simply prepared, always popular around fall gatherings.  We always enjoyed our pecan pie hot with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top (a-la-mode)!


  • 1 ½ cups white Karo syrup
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 4 whole eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 2 unbaked 9” pie shells
  1. Into a microwavable 2-4 cup measuring cup heat Karo syrup and butter for 2 ½ minutes on high; remove, stir, and set aside
  2. In a separate bowl combine beaten eggs, sugar and vanilla and mix well
  3. Pour hot syrup over eggs a little at a time, wisking constantly
  4. Add pecan halves or arrange in circular pattern inside pie shell
  5. Pour entire mixture into pie shells and bake at 350° for 1 hour

Makes two 9” shallow pies

Pie should shake slightly in the middle when done. Don’t overcook
