This recipe has been around since the mid 20th Century.  It's quite simply and excellent as a treat following afternoon tea or a patio luncheon.


  • ½ pound butter, softened
  • 5 TBS powdered sugar
  • 3 cup flour, sifted twice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  1. Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and blend on low speed until well combined. If too dry, add a couple drops of water
  2. Remove from bowl, divide with 1 heaping TBS then roll into balls
  3. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 300° for 35 minutes
  4. While slightly warm, roll in powdered sugar
