You're sure to satisfy your "chocolate fix" after indulging in this delicious dessert!

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ stick butter
  • 4 TBS cocoa
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 TBS flour
  • 3 egg yolks, separated
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 9” baked pie shell
  • ¼ tsp crème of tartar
  • ½ tsp sugar
    Directions:
  1. Using a hand mixer combine all ingredients; cook over medium heat in saucepan until mixture resembles a custard; pour into pie shell
  2. In a small mixing bowl combine 3 egg whites, with crème of tartar and sugar and beat with electric mixer until stiff peaks are formed; spread meringue over top of pie
  3. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes, until meringue is brown
  4. Refrigerate for best slicing results
