Basic pound cake.  Use it instead of store-bought and then try that strawberry shortcake recipe on it!  Yum!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound butter, softened
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all purpose (not self rising) flour, sifted

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend softened butter, and sugar for about 2 minutes
  2. Add eggs one at a time; add remaining ingredients, blending until smooth
  3. Pour mixture into 2 greased Teflon Bundt pans; do not fill more than half to two-thirds full
  4. Bake for 1 hour at 350°

Makes 2 cakes
