Old recipe and still everybody's favorite!

Ingredients:

  • 2 squares of bittersweet chocolate
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 TBS white Karo syrup
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 TBS vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Into a double boiler place chocolate and next 4 ingredients, cook until fully melted and combined; remove from heat and set aside
  2. After chocolate mixture is cooled add eggs and remaining ingredients, combining well
  3. Place into greased 9” rectangular pan and bake for 40 minutes at 350°
  4. Remove from oven and cut into serving sizes after brownies have cooled

Makes approximately 12-14 brownies
