Another variation of the Apple Cake recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 beaten eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 2 cups sifted flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 4 medium size cooking apples
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp allspice
- 6 butter pats
Directions:
- Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl
- Add eggs and milk, beat until light and fluffy
- Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together; add to mixture; beat until well blended
- Spread evenly into a 9 x 14” greased pan
- Peel and slice apples into thin slices; arrange on top of mixture to totally cover
- Mix the brown sugar, ¼ cup flour, salt, and spices until blended; spinkle over the apples and dot with the butter pats
- Place into a preheated 375o oven for 40 minutes
- Serve warm with a dollop of Kool Whip or whipping cream over each serving
