Giant Popovers

Tasty compliment to just about any meal.  Be sure to serve hot. . .

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 TBS melted butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Beat eggs in small bowl until light and fluffy
  2. Add milk and butter, mixing well
  3. Combine dry ingredients; add to egg mixture & beat until smooth
  4. Butter 6 custard cups generously, place cups in a pan
  5. Place in a preheated 400° oven for 5 minutes before filling; remove
  6. Spoon batter evenly into the cups
  7. Bake at 400° for 25 minutes; turn off heat and allow to sit an additional 5-10 minutes in oven; remove from oven and remove from cups immediately
  8. Serve hot with butter
